I’m mentioned in the Adyar Times!

I had emailed Adyar Times sometime back complaining about the traffic problem in Adyar mainly in to LB road. And then today Ragha informed me that my name was in this weeks’s edition of Adyar Times. Sure enough, I was mentioned on page 6. It was a full page article with photos of the choked up LB road and the numerous encroachments.

An extract from the article follows:

Chaos on Adyar’s main road
By Our Staff Reporter

You have to just agree with Marc, a resident of Besant Nagar when he states in his letter to the Adyar Times, that L.B. Road needs to be widened. This road is a main link for residents from not only Besant Nagar and Thiruvanmiyur but also those living along the ECR and old Mahabalipuram Road.

The article continues to talk about specific instances of encroachments and bottle-necks and the article is far too big to type it up. Get a copy of the Adyar Times for the full thing.

And since many people seem to be interested in my original email to Adyar Times, here it is:

Dear Editor,

While there is much fuss about improving the Old Mahabalipuram Road and the East Coast Road, nobody seems to care about the roads used to get to these highways! Take LB road for instance. It is always choked with traffic which encroachments galore, jaywalkers and share autos clogging up bus bays. This road needs to be widened immediately! It is a vital link between Adyar and Thiruvanmyur. We should take action immediately if we don’t want Adyar to end up like T. Nagar.

Yours sincerely,
Marc

    Aren’t we the traffic expert!

Though I prefer the wording “You just have to agree with Marc Zephyrin..” to what’s in the article.

Actually pretty intelligent letter there, even if a little agitated like.

Yeah I found the wording strange too.

Agitated because the situation is really bad.
