Blog Update Planned

I’m bored of my blog’s theme already. I’m planning to chose a different colour palette for perhaps the same theme and make some changes to the sidebar and stuff. Perhaps I’ll change to a completely new theme if I find anything interesting. I’ll also make the feed display the entire post instead of just the summary when I’ve finished all this. Of course I’ll also be upgrading to the latest version of WordPress before all this.

Tell me what you like about this current layout. What features do you like and which ones should go. If you have any cool widgets or themes that are interesting, leave links to them in the comments and I”ll check them out.

The widgets in the sidebar - many of them are useless - like the shoutbox.

I think the functionality of the blog is ok. The color schemes look pleasing to the eye, but are in no way visually outstanding. I was talking to my bro and he was telling me how it is difficult to find the “perfect” theme. Either you dont get flexible width or custom colors or header image. I toyed around with a few but couldnt find anything suitable at all. But for privately hosted blogs, I guess more options are available…

Binny, the Calendar, Pages and Meta widgets were pointless. I’ve gotten rid of them already. But the shoutbox… Pierre would be very unhappy with you.

Karthik, move to my blogging service at Ampli5.org and you get full control over your blog. Any theme and any modification is possible. Your brother is welcome there as well. (It’s free, of course.)

I like this theme and layout and I’ll leave this as my default. If I don’t find anything I like I will revert to this theme.

I also need to add a plugin to display the top commenters on the blog. Any plugins must wait for the upgrade.
