‘The Dark Knight’ (‘Batman Begins’ Sequel) – Preview Photos
Found some of these promotional material for The Dark Knight.
I always thought that the Joker’s face didn’t look evil enough. His makeup was too perfect and artificial. Instead of making a latex mask to create the stretchy smile this new look for the Joker is perfect! Makes it more realistic.
Batman’s costume on the other hand is not all that great. All full black costume won’t look good in the dark settings of the movie but that’s how it should be. The shiny gold coloured belt does not help.
Maggie Gyllenhaal is the new Rachel Dawes in the movie which is the only cast change. I’m also hoping to see more of Cillian Murphy, who looks awesome in the two movies I’ve seen him in – Batman Begins and Sunshine.
Release date is 18th July 2008. I can’t wait, dammit!

I don’t think there can be a realistic Joker. Fell into chemicals and got his face bleached white and his hair discoloured. This looks like make-up. I think the Joker was meant to be exaggerated, over the top, artificial. I dislike this.

I know the Joker’s history but the makeup in the comic was just for contrast because of that particular medium. That kind of makeup in the movie would have looked garish. Now he looks like what is really is. A psychopathic mass murderer.

Yellow belt is out of place. I don’t care how Joker looks. It’s his psychotic nature that should come out well. I don’t think Scarecrow has any part to play in this one. Cillian Murphy is one cool fellow, always looking composed and indifferent.

His name is in the credits in IMDB so he might make a short appearance as one of the Arkhan Asylum inmates.

Firstly, Christian Bale rocks!! Batman Begins has been the best of the series so far. The earlier editions were worth laughing at really!! They might have done well at the box office and might have been ahead of their time, but it didn’t do much for me. The worst was Jack Nicholson as Joker!! What a waste of talent!!
