Google Reader Improved

I’m beginning to think that Google really is evil.

Their most recent feature is the shared feeds on Google Reader. (If you don’t know what feeds are you should go read up before you continue reading this.)

How this works is that the feeds that your friends and contacts on Gtalk choose to share are available to you within Google Reader. So you can click on their name under Friends’ shared items and read all their feeds.

I have hundreds of posts and comments to sort through every day from the feeds I’m already subscribed to. This takes about half an hour a day not considering the time spent to leave comments or reading really long articles. Now by enabling users to access feeds of friends Google has ensured that people can never leave their computers. They will die from starvation reading feeds all day. Why did you do it, Google? Why?

I prefer an offline reader. I’m just that way.
