Hallowed Be aXXo
Xavier emailed me this prayer beseeching aXXo to come back to us. (This was found on a TorrentFreak post here).
Our Ripper, who art on mininova,
aXXo be thy name.
Thy torrents come.
Seeding will be done,
Here as it was on suprnova.
Give us this day our latest rips.
And forgive us our leeching,
As we forgive those that leech from us.
And lead us not on to private trackers;
But deliver us from the MPAA;
For thine is the ripping, the seeding, and the glory,
For ever and ever.
Amen.
If you haven’t been following the news lately or you are a complete noob, some information to bring you up to date:
However not everyone feels this way. The people who have an understanding of The Scene are aware that aXXo does not deserve this respect. I shall elaborate in successive posts.

Ah, yes, aXXo. I thought he was caught by the police, heh. Glad to read that he’s okay. He should return quick. I need to download the proper, no virus infested version of “I am legend”.
2nd articles comments, hilarious stuff.

Hey Marc!
Came here through Krish Ashok’s blog. Have been visiting for sometime actually, so thought I’d break the ice and say Hi.
Whatever one might say about aXXo, one should appreciate the diligence with which he/they used to put out their stuff
Personally though, I usually go the scene releases, but once in a while, to aXXo for the filesize.
I heard that recently, a new guy/group called KLAXXON has taken over from where aXXo left off!

Klaxxon has axxo in it, omg conspiracy theory!!!1
Anyway, I think it’s pretty interesting how they get their stuff, these rippers. Razor 1911 had (has? Don’t know, haven’t bothered in years) a fascinating operation running.
As for stuff like ‘respect’ and ‘The Scene’, I can only laugh.

[...] noticed that Marc posted about a spoof prayer to aXXo (a well known ripper), and I couldn’t help but notice that it was mostly a copy from [...]

Marc you should not bother about it. You never download anything.

I do not support Video Piracy myself.
Since Video Piracy is a punishable crime, aXXo is a wanted criminal.
However, for thousands( more perhaps) of people who download aXXo torrents, his name represented reliable torrents of good quality that would fit in one CD.(Even if no one burnt it on to a CD). However off late, people have been using the aXXo name to upload spam. After downloading 700MB, one realises that it’s not even an .avi file. For instance, ‘I am Legend’ DVD’s arent even out yet, but you have torrents of the same with ‘axxo’ labels over them and morons are downloading it. ( It has in excess of 1000 seeders. )

I didn’t know he had gone again.

Vinny, you got a virus on a video file? Never download the stuff that is split into archive files as far as possible.. That is not the way BitTorrent is supposed to be used and you probably have less chance of getting a virus.
Karthik Abhiram, I do appreciate the fact that aXXo puts out good quality rips for the public. I was referring to him going against the rules of The Scene as I will explain in my next post. Thanks for visiting my blog.
George, yeah these buggers are weird and take things too seriously but there’s a reason for it and you have to be thankful to them for keeping our backward country supplied with the stuff we couldn’t afford or was sometimes just not available here.
Adithya, I do download things. Just only in the holidays. When college starts I’m too tired to even monitor a download. Also it takes so long on the crappy connections we have.
Karthik, aXXo is as innocent as Mother Teresa until proven guilty by a court of law in his country. You pronouncing him a criminal just shows you don’t know enough about how things work. Also, the legality of downloading a ripped copy of the movie when you own the original is debatable and thus you cannot make a blanket statement like that about video piracy. Plus if you have read about how The Scene works, they claim they have no interest in letting people download the movies they rip and this is supported by the fact that they don’t release their work to the public. This disclaimer indicates that if you download a pirated copy of the movie the consequences are your own responsibility.
You have to have some knowledge about movies and torrents to get the right stuff. The best way is to use some torrent site like ThePirateBay that usually has comments right below the torrent link discussing the download. If it’s a fake someone usually points it out immediately.
Sundar, it’s not the kind of news you follow. No worries.

No, I did know he went off sometime back… But I didn’t know he has been inactive for sometime now.
Now you’ve managed to get your blog listed for queries for axxo.
December 31st, 2007 at 11:54 am
Hey yeah. My blog is the first entry for the search term ‘axxo’ in Google Blog Search. Right now, at least.

Haha damm you Marc. Keep manipulating google to put you first.
