Heroes And Glaring Errors
I’ve started watching Heroes and I suppose it’s watchable. The first few episodes were poorly made but it gets better as the storyline progresses. Xavier’s claim that “it is gay” is just him being stupid. The video effects employed are quite impressive. These include one of the characters moving through a scene where time is paused. You can see smoke and a fireball from the explosion paused around the character as he walks around and interacts with the environment.
The most annoying thing about the series was that the Japanese characters speak in Japanese a lot but the Tamilian in the series always speak in English. He calls him home town Madras (instead of Chennai) and when he gets there in one episode it’s not even Chennai. It’s some North Indian set where everyone wears colourful clothes and walks around a colourful marketplace. And none of them are Tamilians. They all speak English and they have names like Mohinder and Shanti. Then they show some old Mughal building and claim it’s ‘Chennai University’.
This is just like the time they tried to pass off the Tamil script as an alien language in one Stargate SG1 episode.
If you manage to get season 1 from someone (I got it from Alayan) you can catch season 2 on Star World from January 22nd.

[...] Finally, I finished watching two seasons of Heroes all at one go. It was interesting enough and it’s rumoured the next season won’t kick off until this fall. Apart from calling a South Indian Mohinder Suresh and all that what I didn’t like in the series is bringing defeated/dead characters back to life by regenerative blood transfusion or characters like Noah Bennett joining The Company again after trying to bring it down. I know Sylar is the one villain but it just doesn’t feel right bringing him back. I think season 1 was brilliant and they messed it a bit in the season 2 where the above relapses occur. I hope they get it right in season 3. And did I tell you Sylar character looks somewhat like Marc. [...]
