Campus Connected Corrupted By Engineering Colleges?
The Campus Connect program started by Infosys is a n effort to bring the students in engineering colleges up to industry standards to make them more employable.
While the initiative is commendable, it looks like the program isn’t working as intended. Read more about it here.
Are engineering colleges corrupting this program or is Infosys dumbing down everything to reach the students?
Even if the latter is true, there is absolutely no excuse for misspelling the page title on this page.

Although the Campus Connect classes don’t serve the purpose they set out on achieving, I heard that if you are thorough with the concepts being taught, it will ease the burden during the grueling training period.

These training things and aptitude tests are complete bullshit. I recently took the NIIT national aptitude test and I can assure it was total bullshit! And they said IT companies like Infosys are looking for people who score high on that test.

Awaiting moderation am I?

Srividya, I dont think so. It’ll still be grueling, and most probably we’ll find that the whole exercise had no purpose at all.
The spelling mistakes are not only on the title of the page, but on almost all of their pages. There are many grammatical mistakes, and when I downloaded a file which was linked to as a zip file of the course work, I ended up with a .htm file, which I had to rename. And when I did that and opened it, there was only one file instead of the whole set.

Sundar, my friend who underwent Campus Connect and subsequently the training said she found it easier than her counterparts who had not gone through Campus Connect.WE learn the same stuff again in the training.
Ultimately, it also depends on how serious you were about the entire CC.

we have this girl over here who is called “Infosys BPO campus brand ambassador” :/ to propagate about the “world class infrastructure at their BPO” and why they must consider joining it.
the girl is paid about 5k (not sure at what interval) but her job is to conduct campus seminars explaining a dopey presentation filled with equally dopey infosys BPO pictures and pure bullshit about outsourcing. plus she is a science student.

Sundar, you have just revealed the extent to which you are preparing for Infosys. Gatherer!
Srividya, I am glad our college doesn’t have Campus Connect. I am pretty sure that it won’t be useful during training since the questions are of really poor quality.

Srividya, your friend must have been from some really good college like AU or Madras Inst or SSN or whatever where one can expect staff members to be reasonably proficient in whatever they are trying to teach. But surely you wont feel a thing in my place where campus connect involves scrolling through 40 slides, and lab classes where we can “Do something”, to quote my prof. The classes with their awkward timings of 3 - 5:30 PM are more of a pain in the neck than anything else.

I know, but what I mean to say is that, if you brush up the material by yourself, during the hols after this sem, you will find it easier during the training.
Why do you want the staff to teach you? It’s mostly stuff we’ve studied already-can’t we go through it ourselves?

The point Sundar is making is that they are forced to sit through these classes.
I am not going to even look at this so called study material. If it makes sense and is practical, then it’ll be easy for me.

The study material is just a collection of slides. One cant just read them off.. Slides need someone with know-how explaining, which is when we start hitting snags.

Whoa!! I haven’t even heard about this campus connect. Marc, Sundar all gatherers!!
But if campus connect means our college people will be teaching stuff, I am quitting Infy
(If only I get another job)

You’re going to take the Infosys job. Back in 2nd or 3rd year I predicted that you would get a software programming job even though you wanted something else.
