Microsoft Is NOT Buying Yahoo
Microsoft has made a bid. A proposal. They have not bought Yahoo.
Saying ‘Microsoft is buying Yahoo’ or anything similar implying that the sale is imminent is incorrect. See the image below:
The news was buried and marked as inaccurate for a reason. (Well, because it is inaccurate.)
So chill out. It’s not important. Both companies suck. One is known for bad operating systems and the other is known for a bad email service.

Yahoo is a nice email service! I have been using Yahoo for 5 years now! Started the account in December 2002. It might not be as fast as GMail, but in all other aspects (extra features etc) its better than GMail.
I dunno about your first point though. Coz, I have never used any other OS than that of Microsoft, so I aint sure of that…

Yahoo sucks. They put ads inside the email, forcing everyone (even people who don’t use Yahoo Mail) to read it. See this.

the millions of yahoo and microsoft users would disagree with you marc. yahoo and microsoft lead online e-mail and news services. if microsoft acquires yahoo then they’d do to e-mail what they did to the PC, create conditions that would make people shift to their service.

I like Yahoo myself, but then too much of spam and ads too. My eyes just ignore the ads. They are trained by now. Google also dislpay ads, even if it’s more subtle.
I think the takeover or merger would have been disastrous for both companies. Both are sinking already.

Suren, there is the opinion of people (noobs) and there is fact. Fact is Yahoo puts ads inside email so they suck. And your second sentence seems lifted straight off a news article I read yesterday.

Mahesh, what do you mean only the ads suck? Isn’t that enough to declare a service as totally crappy? No wonder you use Yahoo.
