If you’ve travelled by the Old Mahabalipuram Road recently you would have seen the billowing clouds of dust that are generated everyday by the people ‘working’ on the road. To avoid a layer of dust settling into our hair, faces and lungs we have to come up with solutions like these.
The expected date of completion of the Old Mahabalipuram Road is 2142 A.D.

March 3rd, 2008 at 11:17 pm
By the time they complete that (close to our college) side of the road, there will be one or two rains and the side close to madhya kailash will be full of pot holes. Just a matter of time. They will collect toll to fix the roads.
Just in case you thought that we won’t be travelling by that road after a while, think again. I heard infy is puttig people in Mahindra city.
(GST might be the route taken actually, but we could travel partly on OMR)
March 4th, 2008 at 12:08 am
Traveling through OMR roads, nowadays makes me feel damn sick.
haha, but only for few more months, then i’ll escape.
March 4th, 2008 at 12:38 am
Walk into a bank like that and do a pretend heist. It’ll be fun.
March 4th, 2008 at 6:42 am
Too much wow.
March 4th, 2008 at 5:16 pm
You put a lolcat to shame.
March 4th, 2008 at 5:44 pm
Karthik and Rachel, I’d use my own airtight vehicle with oxygen supply.
George, fun for you. Not for me.
Adithya, look who’s talking.
Sindhu, what’s the caption?
March 4th, 2008 at 6:18 pm
Come on, George’s right! It’ll be way too cool.
Marc, you’re exaggerating. I’ve been down that road many times.
March 4th, 2008 at 7:40 pm
Uh my total game play has been 3 days. I have been playing for 35 days now. You have already gone past me within a week.
March 4th, 2008 at 9:05 pm
@Anusha,
You have been down that road many times, no doubt. But then we had something called rains. And half the tar supposed to be used on roads here is sold on the black market, with the Sr. Engineer making a lot of money. Then we had brilliant Indians planning out what they termed a “project” which is actually just laying a road for some 20 km stretch. (the Chinese could do it in a month)
So, they dug what little as left of the OLD Mahabalipuram road and made dust fly all over the place. As if that wasn’t enough, they put gypsum (or is it sand) on the completed stretch as well. We just have it flying into our buses.
Believe me, if you took that road now, you won’t notice a thing. There will be so much dust inside, you won’t be able to notice.
@George,
Inside Man ?
@Marc,
I’d like very much to hitch a ride.
March 4th, 2008 at 9:07 pm
and Marc, why is there a deer running after your bus ? (Let’s pretend here that I don’t travel in your bus)
March 4th, 2008 at 9:22 pm
Seriously? I haven’t been down that road in a few months. Surely it couldn’t have been made worse that it already was. Fine, I’ll come back in May and give it a look.
March 4th, 2008 at 9:55 pm
@Anusha, i hope work will get over to some extent before you take a trip along OMR Roads. Coz now the process is quite fast but not very sure about that.
March 4th, 2008 at 11:04 pm
Picture, too much exposure to Ragha I say. And there’s a frigging deer behind you! Why is your college poaching deers?
March 4th, 2008 at 11:31 pm
The expected date is not 2142 A.D it may be 3142 A.D later
March 4th, 2008 at 11:32 pm
March 5th, 2008 at 10:01 am
Dude I know you have started playing WoW. But don’t you think this is too much. And talking about that pictures, we have already got it as wallpaper in some of the systems in our lab, but the thing is people cant recognize that its you
March 5th, 2008 at 12:14 pm
pretty much the same state we go thru almost everyday for the past 1.5 yrs travelling thru and fro to college on NH17!!! totally agree with u..
March 5th, 2008 at 3:31 pm
Adithya, my play time shows a little more than 2 days. You’re the one who’s level 40.
Anusha, don’t go down that road if you value your health.
Gowtham, LOL! Bastards.
Kenneth, NH17 resembles a war zone with crumbling roads and dust clouds?
Oh shit where did that deer come from?! Must be a picture on the rear glass pane of the bus.
March 5th, 2008 at 5:26 pm
you were dressed like this inside the bus?? no wonder there’s no one sitting next to you.
stop fooling around like this and go get your ID card xeroxed.
March 5th, 2008 at 5:28 pm
The bus isn’t always full, smart ass.
I’m honoured that you took the time off from your busy project work at Anna University to comment on my blog.
March 5th, 2008 at 5:56 pm
I still say you guys are exaggerating. Marc, didn’t the heat get to you?
March 5th, 2008 at 6:18 pm
Yes am level 42 now. My play time is somewhere around 3 and 1/2 days. I got the game 35 days back. You got the 1 and 1/2 weeks ago and your play time is over 2 hours!
March 5th, 2008 at 6:18 pm
2 Days*
March 5th, 2008 at 9:52 pm
Well, not all of us are dressed like this all the time, but then the kerchief covering your nose is totally necessary. I would not wear my shades on the bus. It will get scratched so bad, itll be no use in a few days.
As for the exxageration, lets just say once we are in colleges its hard to say who had a bath in the morning and who didnt.
It works to a few peoples advantage actually. Pity it works just the opposite for me.
March 6th, 2008 at 2:41 pm
Anusha, not exaggerating at all. Ask anyone who travels by that road.
Adithya, you are level 44 or something. I am still level 24!
Karthik, why would sunglasses get scratched on the bus? If you bought some ridiculously expensive ones and are afraid to wear them outside fearing scratches then I laugh at you.
March 6th, 2008 at 3:44 pm
Marc, he meant scratched from all the mud particles blowing into his face.
March 6th, 2008 at 4:09 pm
It’s not ridiculously expensive, but then I paid for it. (With hard earned symposium money
)And it does get scratched if you have sand and dust all over the place. They are supposed to protect your eyes from sunlight, not sand storms.
March 6th, 2008 at 7:47 pm
What nonsense. Sunglasses are supposed to protect your eyes from foreign particles as well as harmful sunlight. As if there are other accessories for protecting your eyes from dust.
Karthik, knowing you I am pretty sure your sunglasses fall under the ridiculously expensive category. What’s the price?
March 7th, 2008 at 4:55 am
Marc stop repeating the same thing. I have had the game for more than 35 days and have a game time of 4 days. You have had it for 7 days and have a game time of 2 days! Do the math!
March 7th, 2008 at 1:43 pm
yes, at least MY project work isn’t as important as going for a rock show.
March 7th, 2008 at 9:13 pm
Don’t you love sandstorms?
March 7th, 2008 at 10:07 pm
Suren, it’s not Rammstein, RATM or Slipknot. Not going to Bangalore for other bands.
Adithya, I run around trying to find quests to do while you level up all the time.
March 10th, 2008 at 1:11 pm
I do quests too! I don’t level up by grinding!
March 11th, 2008 at 10:22 pm
marc…i think they wont finish the construction by 2142 A.D.
and i am also in your group…..wearing gears on your head and to avoid inhaling the dust!!!
March 12th, 2008 at 12:47 am
Marc, why on earth are you putting scene? I have been to that road several times during my college hours at 90 Kmph in the Noon. I see No dust, rather the roads are pretty good to test my skills.
I suggest you listen to Anusha once and for all !
THE END!
March 12th, 2008 at 1:30 pm
Ragha, you can breathe dust so you didn’t notice it. And you went there bloody once.
March 12th, 2008 at 5:22 pm
I’m still swooning over the way he said ‘Listen to ANUSHA once and for all!’. See, told you it’s better to just listen to whatever he says.
March 12th, 2008 at 6:40 pm
Yeah it is. Otherwise he’ll turn off the power in our area like he did the other day.
March 13th, 2008 at 3:22 pm
OOOOH! I’m impressed!!
March 13th, 2008 at 5:43 pm
you didn’t say that when it was your area.
March 13th, 2008 at 7:39 pm
Well, Ragha and I share responsibility. I’ve given over my share to him for the time being.
March 13th, 2008 at 9:33 pm
No time being business. It’s all his now.
March 13th, 2008 at 9:42 pm
She doesn’t understand the magnitude of his power. Your share is nothing! He can shut down a nuclear reactor in France with his surges!
March 14th, 2008 at 6:45 pm
lolz….
and ppl(anusha and ragha)
try traveling in OMR now and lets see u 2 comment abt it….
i agree it is better now but juz a few weeks ago….man oh man….horrible!!!
March 14th, 2008 at 7:47 pm
It’d be no problem for me if he were to shut down a nuclear power reactor here in France. In fact, I could benefit from it by forcing them to give me cash in exchange for the only person who can fix it again.
Umm, avenger, I already told everyone that I’ll have to wait till I come BACK to see how it is.
March 15th, 2008 at 8:48 pm
Ragha doesn’t fix. Only destroy.
March 15th, 2008 at 10:55 pm
Was it Ragha that made OMR like that ? That explains it. It was alright, till you went there and tried bike stunts and all
March 17th, 2008 at 4:04 pm
Yes Marc, but they don’t know that.
Haha, Marc doing stunts on the OMR?
March 17th, 2008 at 11:21 pm
You have to do stunts to drive on the OMR!
March 18th, 2008 at 4:11 pm
I doubt it.
March 18th, 2008 at 6:52 pm
Re-read everything. That’s how bad the roads are.
