Adithya’s New Rig

Adithya’s processor and motherboard failed some four days ago and he was trying to get it repaired. However both the motherboard and processor were gone and he had to get them replaced. He doesn’t have a UPS so the components must have suffered damage during power surges. (This is India so we have power surges all the time.) We could actually see burn marks on the motherboard power connectors. Thankfully the GeForce 5200 was okay.

Anyway, we went to Richie Street yesterday and headed to Ragha’s shop where we got a P4 2.8 GHz processor, a motherboard and 1 GB of DDR2 RAM for Rs. 4000 (secondhand). A decent deal I think.

Now Adithya will put scene saying he has a faster computer. However I have my GeForce 7300 GT. Can’t beat that!

Damn I’m behind the times. I didn’t even know DDR3 was commonly available these days.
