Mounts In World of Warcraft

One of the coolest features in World of Warcraft is the mount. A mount is an animal such as a wolf, raptor or kodo that you can ride for a movement speed increase. This is very useful since there is a lot of travelling involved in the game and the world is a huge place.

First, have a look at my wolf mount. This screenshot was taken just inside Zul’Farrak, a troll city (an instance). This was the mount I got at level 40.

At Orgrimmar I saw a flying mount for the first time. This mount is available only at level 70 (the maximum level) and only with the expansion back (The Burning Crusade). You can actually fly around with it in the expansion pack areas!

The Raven Lord you saw in Orgrimmar (in the second picture) isn’t a true flying mount, although he is a bird and he does come from a level 70 dungeon.

You generally won’t see flying mounts in the old world because they can’t use ‘used’ (i.e. mounted or ridden) in Azeroth — only in Outland. But you were very lucky to see a Raven Lord anyway — they are a rare drop from Anzu in Sethekk Halls (Heroic) and not at all a common sight.

You are right. After reading up on it, I found that it was a reskinned version of the raptor mount model. It cannot fly and hence we can see in it the non expansion areas. Thanks for the information.

  3. Gowtham says:

I cant see the face of your mount in both the pics. It looks more like Thrall’s spirit wolf?????

And nice pics, you never stop to impress me with your WOW screen shots

  4. Hari says:

Remember Marc you have exams in few more days.
I guess you are going to write about WoW in SQM.

  5. Aniche says:

  6. arun says:

@hari if marc writes about wow in SQM then i will write about cs in Grid wat u say marc

  7. George says:

Hey, that’s pretty cool. Why does the bird’s rider have his hands up in the air like he’s been arrested?

  8. Gowtham says:

    @George
Take a closer look dude. The hands are down only, you should have mistaken his shoulder pads for hands!!!

  9. Marc Z says:

Hari, we have exams in a few days. So like Arun said you’re not going to stop playing CS.

And yes, those are shoulderpads. They look like hands in the thumbnail though.

  10. George says:

They are shoulder pads, my mistake. I like that other place, with dinosaur things in the green fields. Pretty funky. Nice looking game. Must be fun.

Does your character actually get tired and shit?

  11. Arun says:

Marc is actually becoming a WoW character. When he plays too long, he wants to rest only an hour to get himself recharged for the next instance or something.

  12. Vivek (Avenger) says:

  13. Gowtham says:

  14. Vivek (Avenger) says:

    more interesting than CS???

  15. Hari says:

Yes Vivek they call it as more interesting than CS.

  16. Marc Z says:

Obviously it is more interesting than CS.

Nine million people all over the world play the game. Think of any ten games you like. It is better than all 10 of them.

  17. Vivek (Avenger) says:

can i think of pack man??? :P
