Back From Vacation

I’m back in town.

Munnar was alright. The weather was a welcome change from the blistering heat of Chennai and it was comfortable falling asleep under the thick blankets and waking up late. The tourist traps were noisy and dirty and I could convince my parents to skip them only when they found out that the wait for an hour and a half for boating. It was also annoying to wait for my mother and sister who dived into every shop to look at earrings and other junk.

Rachel found it necessary for some reason to tell me that the results had arrived and what percentage she had scored just as I was leaving for Munnar. And so I had to worry about the results too, not knowing that mine hadn’t even been announced. Thanks a lot, Rachel.

The Tea Museum was the most interesting place of all. They had set up an entire factory just to demonstrate the tea manufacturing process to tourists. This was nice since most tea factories don’t allow visitors. We were also shown a 30 minute film about the history of Munnar which was a great touch.

I was quite bored with the landscape and the hotel and stayed indoors for quite a bit watching TV. I liked the travelling by taxi cab and train more than the place itself.

    Ah photos. Soon.

Suren, the entrance costs Rs. 75 and I guess the cheap ass tour management guys didn’t want that eating into their margins. We stayed at a place called Devikulam 7 kilometres from the town and went around in a hired taxi for Rs. 1300 per day.

Marc, i don’t know that only we got the results and not all the ppl. I knew only at 10 o’clock that results were only for us :)

In my case, since i was attending a session in the camp and place where i headed was a hill so couldn’t view my result, great right. Then Vinod messaged me my result.

I was in ground playing happily when all of a sudden her call came and I was surprised to know that the results came. But we continued to play. But one of my friend saw the results and called me. Damn him! He ruined the day. Some didn’t get the results because of arrear and which was a new thing this year. So they were a bit sad and that day was spoiled.
