Inspired by Sivakumar??????

I noticed that all of Sivakumar’s posts followed a standard format and set out to make a similar post and also try to guess why he uses this format. First we have the title which usually contains multiple question marks or exclamation marks. This is due to his subconscious urge to get a lot of marks in exams or perhaps it is supposed to be ASCII art. Then we have the vaguely related image probably found with Google Image search. Many people put images to make their posts more colourful and interesting so I don’t fault him for this. I only question the relevance of those images to the post.
Now we move on to the random sentences in bold face. Sivakumar uses bold liberally and at times you wonder why a particular sentence is in bold.
Why are these sentences bold?
Are they important?.
So why are they also center aligned?.
Bold wasn’t enough?
Questions center aligned and in bold face are another typical characteristic of Siva’s posts. He sometimes puts full stops after question marks so I’ve done that too. After much deliberation I came to the conclusion that this is designed to reflect his bold personality and his need to be at the center of attention. Finally, Sivakumar ends his posts with a sentence or a question (in bold face, of course) so I shall do that also.
Why does Sivakumar call himself Selerines?

I wanted to add this in the post but decided it would be better as the first comment.
Sivakumar has a really good eye for colour and design. The clock and marquee at the bottom are very tasteful and the entire layout of the blog is very well done.
May 30th, 2008 at 9:40 pm
You can also find many international comments in his blog. One funny comment i came across ” Hey Selerines you know Italian coz my blog is an Italian blog” i started ROFL
imagine commenting on the unknown language blog. Dai ghubhaa your chance less da.
I know why he chose the name Selerines. I think it’s better Siva to say about it coz he may not like if i tell now.
May 30th, 2008 at 9:51 pm
All did you notice post of selerines? he always ends up his post title with question mark or exclamation. So fot this post answer is “i don’t know” This was one of my comment in his blog post.
So you can answer ‘yes’ ‘no’ or ‘pass the question’
He is aiming at high PR and so he is getting lot of backlinks all over the web. He just post general things cos it will be readable by all(other country readers also)
As far as this post, semma damage to Siva @ Selerines, and lets eait and see what is going to be his reply.
May 30th, 2008 at 9:54 pm
@ Rachel
I thing he is using some tool for converting the language into English. I don’t remember what tool is that.
May 30th, 2008 at 10:00 pm
Anyway Hari, the minute i saw the comment i started ROFL dude.
May 30th, 2008 at 10:17 pm
@Marc : Nice damage done to ”Selerines World”….. Fine, i always tries to be unique in each and every thing that am doing…. Some won’t like it and some will admire it like you…. Thanks for appreciating my work…..
@Rachel : I got so many International readers in to my blog, mainly because of my posts and the content…. I am saying it because that’s what my fellow foreign bloggers told me… Even though i don’t know Italian, French and so on.. I am having the translator plugin with my browser, through which i can able to translate any language into English and then i will read the post… Last but not least, i am very much thankful to my friend Anusri who guided me a lot to drive traffic from many abroad countries….
Secret behind ”Selerines”… It was originated from my childhood friend’s name Selena….
May 31st, 2008 at 12:18 am
Thanks a lot Marc. I was thinking of posting about his blog situation. But you didn’t it. Thanks a lot for saving me one post.
@ Siva
Good luck dude! I consider your blog as a spam as it has comments only from Foreign people now. I must say most comments are by them. So I stopped visiting your blog long back.
Foreign bloggers in your blog are only for one reason and that is for you to get PR soon which is the worst thing. None from our gang who has PR did that. That you can see yourself. You are planning to get PR to earn after that and then your blog quality will die
And selerines is copied from Seliron (He just modified it. Thats all)
Ask Bala if you don’t believe me. He too knows this.
May 31st, 2008 at 12:20 am
Haha, Ahem…
/*Follow up the Siva Style Sheet */
So Who is this selena ??????
What is she doing??????
And Oh, Why selena in particular ??????
May 31st, 2008 at 12:21 am
** Is Selena she or he, I have no idea.
May 31st, 2008 at 12:25 am
Its either seliron or something like that. Bala knows it well. I’ll ask him and comment the correct one here later
May 31st, 2008 at 12:31 am
Whats the problem? He can do whatever he wants on his blog.
May 31st, 2008 at 12:54 am
@Visu
Selena is SHE dude.
@Vinod
Different story is behind Selena and not the one you say man.
May 31st, 2008 at 2:13 am
@Marc,
This post would have been on my blog long back if only it weren’t for certain people who thought/think I am picking on Sivakumar.
@Selerines,
Admiring your work ? Add me to that list. But hey, when do we get to see your work ?
We don’t need international readers. Aren’t you one of those proud Indians ? You should be happy with Indian readers. Hypocrite!!
There’s no harm in getting foreign readers, but it’s annoying when most of the comments say,
“Hi, thanks for visiting my blog and leaving behind a comment. Sure as hell I will add you to my blogroll. Cheers”
It has no bloody relevance to the post!!
@Vinod,
Let’s make fun, but let’s also not be harsh on him.
@Sundar,
Correct. So can Marc. No ? (Damn me if it sounds like I am taking Marc’s side.)
May 31st, 2008 at 2:08 pm
@ KArthik
Was I harsh??? If so then I am sorry Siva. He is desperate to get the PR for his blog. His status is that only in GTalk most of the time. I think he wants to make others understand his feelings towards his country. Thats why he is posting such topics. Topics are really very good. But I don’t feel like commenting in his blog. Its fully surrounded by foreign bloggers’ comments. I am sorry to say this but this is my view.
May 31st, 2008 at 4:01 pm
Karthik, you do pick on Sivakumar all the time even for minor spelling and grammatical mistakes.
Anyway, I agree with Vinod completely. He has turned his blog into Orkut. Traffic is not more important than sensible comments. No one we know went and invited random foreigners to comment on their blogs. Already Blogspot is famous for spam.
It really sucks and I don’t think I will comment on his blog ever again.
May 31st, 2008 at 5:43 pm
One more problem is we aren’t able to read the comments, coz it would cross 60 or 25. Which makes us annoying to read all.
But it’s up to Selerines, coz it’s his blog. Siva we are just giving our suggestions man, it’s up to you to take it or ignore.
May 31st, 2008 at 10:48 pm
One thing is all are jealous of his work and visitors
June 1st, 2008 at 8:19 am
@All : After some time, i realized that the comments are irrelevant to the topics. So that i activated the comment moderation…. I drived the traffic just to advertise my blog and to share my views globally. Even though the bloggers will see my blog worldwide, they won’t show any interest towards commenting about the post. That’s why i invited them to my blog. For me PR is important at the same time i wanna share my views globally, thats my aim.
Even though so many comments are there, whether it’s foreign people comment or local people comment, i don’t know why you people are not ready to comment there in my blog.
Fine as compared to my fellow foreign bloggers, you people are so much important to me. PR, earning money and so on is doesn’t matter to me. Because of my posts one politician from Kenya invited me as the co-author for his blog. You can see it in my blog Ritch’s Blog.
I though that you people are so much busy with your work thats why you are not commenting in my blog. But now i got the real thing exist behind this. Any way fine thanks for the support that you people will gave till now. I hope that it will continue forever.
Now a days, foreign bloggers have started to share their views about the topic. I hope that here after there will be no any irrelevant comments in my post. Then it’s your wish whether to comment in my blog or not. At the same time , here after i am not going to hope for that.
Thanks for your suggestions.. I am very much thankful to Marc who gave so many suggestions in my blog. But one sad thing is even though 60 to 80 comments are there in any of my friends blog, i used to read it fully and i commented in there posts. But i don’t know why you people are not ready for it. Any way its your people view and thoughts. Nothing wrong in that…. Here after i will always try my level best to improve the quality of my blog, at the same time i am not ready to get rid of any one.
Because if you people can able to do it means you can. Just by putting one comment in my blog is not going to cost any thing, whether that post is having 60/80 comments. It all depends on interest and self desire. I know i am not that much good in my English, sorry for it. Any way i will try to improve it.
Selerines World will always welcome the suggestions from all the directions, whether its good or bad. Marc kindly don’t consider this comment as spam, because of the reason it came from a spam blog.
Bye bye….
June 1st, 2008 at 8:25 am
@Hari : Nah nah…. I am a beginner.. I am small as compared to big guns like Marc, Vinod, Kartik, Yourself and so on… At the same time, my work is not that much good enough to make others feel jealous about it. Any way atleast one person is there to support me some what.. Thanks machan!!!!
June 1st, 2008 at 11:38 am
Shiva, thats(hari’s comment) a bloody sarcasm da, why don’t you get it?
Anyway, start another personal blog and post your woes there..
June 1st, 2008 at 12:02 pm
@Vinod,
You weren’t particularly harsh, but then calling someone else’s blog spam and that too in a public forum does sound a little harsh on a fellow classmate. You could have told him you won’t read his blog over messenger.
Also, foreign comments are not so much a problem. It’s their irrelevance to the post that drives me crazy.
@Selerines,
Me and a gun ? Dai, don’t be sarcastic.
Well, I don’t see why you are feeling bad. If your sole aim was the improve your PR, then you should not be bothered about what other people say.
I know you want to earn money from blogs and that is totally alright. Nothing even remotely wrong with it. Infact if you want me to write a couple of posts for you, I will be happy to crap on your blog as well, but then if you expect your friends to read that crap and comment, that’s asking too much. Which is why Marc hides his ads and Vinod has a separate blog for that.
I suggest that you separate business and leisure. We will only be too happy to be invited to the leisure blog.
We are not commenting (I still do comment if there’s anything interesting) because the comments are irrelevant and are a pain to read.
There is nothing wrong with your English or the way you present your views. I come across blogs which are much worse. Plus, you do seem to be getting better. Believe me, blogging does improve your writing skills. It’s your blog for heavens sake. You can do what you want with it. But then you have to be open to criticism. When you post something online, you are subject to scrutiny from almost everyone who is a anyone.
June 2nd, 2008 at 12:57 am
another of my comments seem to have gone missing ?
June 2nd, 2008 at 2:37 am
Wow. Total Damage for Siva kumar. ufff sorry Selerines.
@siva
still selena secret not yet revealed.
June 2nd, 2008 at 7:36 am
@Gany : The person who puts posts like Documentation Day, Project Day, Examination Day, Eating Day, Bathing Day etc,. should not damage me…………. Ok dude!!!!!
June 2nd, 2008 at 11:49 am
Holiday??????
Weekday????
what do you think is the solution for this???????…..??????
June 2nd, 2008 at 1:10 pm
@Gany
Selerines damaged you, but never mind it’s ALL IN THE GAME
@Karthik
Pass
June 2nd, 2008 at 1:15 pm
Siva, your posts are already global since Google indexes them. You don’t have to go and manually bring people to your blog.
We are not ready to comment since the issues are talking about are relevant to India and foreigners will not understand it. We cannot sit and explain everything to them. Also we don’t want to comment because our comments are getting lost in all the unrelated Orkut scrap-like comments.
If there are 60 comments in our blogs they are all by friends or friends of friends and not random people. So it is interesting to read them and reply to them. We don’t want to talk to random foreigners.
This is not about us not having the time or interest to comment in your blog. Remember your first post? And the posts before you started inviting all those people. Go see them. This is about comments from foreigners filling up the comments section which puts us away.
I don’t consider your blog spam. Only your comments section.
*By foreigners’ comments I mean the ones that are irrelevant or misinformed or just plain stupid.
If you want to improve PR and get traffic start a blog just for that. But you shouldn’t do those things on a personal blog which is read by people you know. Will you consider adding anyone and everyone as friends in Orkut? Similarly don’t add everyone to your blogroll.
Also agreed with Champ. All our people have separate blogs for ads so you might want to try that too.
Ganesh, now you got damaged. Thevaya?
Finally, we seem to have forgotten one very important thing.
Buha buha!
June 2nd, 2008 at 4:57 pm
@ ALL, must read.
As marc told we are talking about comment section only and not the blog content, here i’m introducing a blog of the year,
Blog of year
Siva, just read this blog and you will know how lame a blog can be . Comparing to others even me in my blog and other blogs you are posting good.
@Gany : The person who puts posts like Documentation Day, Project Day, Examination Day, Eating Day, Bathing Day etc,. should not damage me………….
Best comment i read in this post.
June 2nd, 2008 at 11:08 pm
Dai Gany Vetti, you wanted me to blogroll this lame blog, damn you. What man if wordpress or any other sub-domain free na, you’ll start a blog like this naye
June 3rd, 2008 at 12:40 am
I’m definitely not adding it.
June 3rd, 2008 at 7:09 am
You know what? That picture you added is really funny. That guy in the centre, particularly.
June 3rd, 2008 at 8:03 am
@All : Ya i agree with you all… Thats what i said now a days i am not allowing any irrelevant comments in my blog…. Kindly forgive me… I want you people to share your views about the post. No need to share it with fellow foreign bloggers. Even they too not arguing any thing. They are just sharing it with me. Thats it!! So i want you people to share your views in my blog, in spite of so many foreign comments. And i assure you all that here after my blog won’t contain any irrelevant comments.. Thanks for your suggestions.
@Gany : Sorry for the comment… Don’t mistake me… I apologise for it…
June 3rd, 2008 at 8:27 am
@George,
That would be Surya,(son of actor Shivakumar) probably one of the few good actors in tamil cinema. But his smile does suggest something.
Not to be discussed on a public forum.
Jothika on the other hand is plain irritating.
June 3rd, 2008 at 8:48 am
Phaaaaa!
Leave the poor guy!!!
Especially Karthik, Always picking on him.
June 3rd, 2008 at 2:05 pm
Siva, I see that your comments section is improving.
Karthik and George, the image is the first search result for ’sivakumar’ in Google Image Search. Let’s not discuss celebrities. They aren’t important enough and not worth our time.
Gowtham, yeah Karthik always does that.
June 3rd, 2008 at 8:08 pm
@Selerines
