Yes I’m There! Just Not Right Now
I don’t continuously monitor my instant messenger for new messages since I’ll be playing a game, watching a video in full screen mode or just away somewhere else. Whenever I get back I see a few messages:
r u there?
are you there?
hi are u busy?
And then the person who left the message would have gone offline. Now I won’t have any idea what the hell that person wanted to say.
Why can’t they just leave a message instead of asking if I am there and waiting for a reply? Don’t they understand how instant messaging works? Both Yahoo and Gtalk networks have offline messages so I’ll definitely see all messages sent to me eventually.
Don’t be one of these annoying people. Don’t ask me if I am there or busy. If you say ‘hi’ or ‘yo’ or something and then go offline since you didn’t get a reply from me I’ll know you just wanted to chat and that’s alright. If it’s very important you’ll be better off sending me an email.

Cha cha no asking you there or not. Leave my message directly. If i don’t get reply, i’ll end my chat with see ya or good night when i am about to go offline

Even i’ll be waiting for your reply. Literally not waiting but i’l be online most of the time so when ever you see you will reply. I think i’m the next person to marc who is online most of the time.
@Rachel
Ya even i used to do it.

I guess such persons just want to say nothing. I mean, mostly they take IM as an entertainment tool, maybe they find bothering others as a great way of killing the boredom.
Ban them all!

Bart, maybe I’ll set up a bot like my friend Sanchan that carries out a conversation with them until they get tired.
Adithya and Arun M, vetti fellows.
Rachel and Hari, yeah you guys leave messages correctly.
