All games are great games. To play anything well you need skill and practice. Playing something for fun is completely different from doing it professionally. I was asking people to open their minds, get over their obsession with cricket and watch other sports also. (Karthik’s comment that he can play cricket but that I can’t do extreme stunts is an example of an excited cricket fanatic trying to defend his favourite game.)

This is about the obsession with cricket in India at the expense of everything else, not an evaluation of the game of cricket itself.

Karthik, I’m sure that a game involving 81% of the team watching the remaining 19% play for half the match makes for a great team game. However my post is not about this and I don’t want yet another discussion on cricket.

Cricket is a great game. You don’t understand it because you dont want to. It is boring, it is dull, it does not have action packed into every minute of it. But to play good cricket, one needs to possess some really complicated, sound technique, and that’s where my interests lie.

Now don’t respond saying that skateboarding requires more “soundness” of technique. I am not comparing. I am only reiterating that cricket is a great game, regardless of whatever you may say.
