Age of Retards

Today I met a guy who was convinced Age of Empires was a realistic battle simulation.

This was his argument:

A Chinese swordsman unit can hit five times during which a Teutonic knight can hit two times. They have even implemented these calculations in the game!

Dumbass.

Thought you were referring to the “age of innocence”, gave me hope that you would like classic romances…oh how I have been fooled.

  2. George says:

I’m sure he had much to say about how priests could also stop chariots in their tracks simply by waving their hands.

That exploit was very useful once upon a time.

Sindhu, the day I start reading romance novels is the day I shut down this blog and hang myself.

George, apparently the term Age of Empires now refers to the latest installment of the series. When I told him that the Total War series was a realistic simulation he then made the statement I’ve posted above.

Dude.. You didn’t know? Its true. The elephant is about quarter as slow as a woad raider. Thats dead accurate!

  5. Marc says:

And you can kill that moving elephant with a catapult. How realistic is that?

  6. Vivek says:

Teutonic knights have a HIGH attack rate compared to other units…so rate of attack doesnt matter! :P

  7. Marc says:

    Whatever you say.

  8. Hari says:

@ Vivek: Wow! You da man!

[Age of retards indeed :P ]
