Man, C&C Generals has so many awesome unit dialogues.
Anyway I’ve started the chain of events that will end with me gaining a new desktop PC and losing a lot of money.
This is the configuration that I’m looking at:
Processor: Athlon II X4 630 – 5.2k
Motherboard: Gigabyte 785GMT-UD2H – 5.6k
RAM: Kingston 4GB (2*2GB) DDR3 1333MHz – 4.4k
GPU: Sapphire HD4850 512MB DDR3 – 6.5k
HDD: WD Blue AAKS 500GB SATA2 – 2.5k
Monitor: BenQ G2220HD – 8.5k / Samsung 2233SW – 9k
Cabinet: CM Elite 310 – 1.6k
SMPS: Gigabyte Superb 460W – 2.2k
Optical Drive: L.G. GH22NS30 SATA
UPS: APC 550VA – 1.9k
Suggestions are welcome even from people that have no idea what the above mean.

That’s a good spec.
Quad core processor and DDR3 are both solid choices that will last for a while.
The GPU is decent as well but you can try getting the 4870 if the price difference isint that much.
Besides why the sudden change of heart to spend so much money on a desktop?
i thought you wanted mobility with a laptop and that you were not willing to spend more than 22k.

Whats the total cost of this configuration?

About 40k. Screw the laptop. I don’t want to pay so much for so little.
If the monitor and other components didn’t add up to a large part of the budget I would have allocated more to the processor and GPU.

Quad Core is good
but it might produce tremendous amount of heat if u choose a bad cabinet, actually am experiencing it
and SMPS , u cud get a smps 550w with dual fan
that would be good

I have chosen a suitable cabinet and power supply. I won’t be having heating problems even with the HD 4850 scorching away. These are all branded quality products that are a necessity for a gaming rig.

The card Ati radeon 5670 HD costs 6500Rs da

My card outperforms that and even the HD 5750. The second digit in the model number is what is important.
They do have DirectX11 support but then it’s more of a gimmick at this point.
