Getting People To Play WoW
For over a year Adithya and I were the only World of Warcraft players among the people we know. That might change with a bunch of new people trying out the game and hopefully we’ll have enough people to fill out 5 mans (at the least). I wonder how many of them will reach level 80.

This time, instead of sending us off to another far away land, Blizzard decided to revamp the existing level 1 to 60 zones (commonly known as the Old World). They’re redesigning and upgrading their existing content and personally I think this is way cooler than both of their expansions.

Sony’s Free Realms is finally out of beta! You should definitely try it. It’s a casual MMO for all ages with a whole lot of social networking features thrown in.

Are You The Chosen One?
A simple Flash game to test your reaction time. A gun is fired and you have to click anywhere on the screen to dodge it. Each level has a time limit within which you must react and the limit becomes a smaller value for each successive level. Clicking before the gun has fired gets you a massive points penalty.
I was quite happy to see that I could react on an average of 0.2 to 0.3 seconds. (Comes in useful when driving in the city.)
On the second attempt, my final score was 14109. I beat one round with 0.002 seconds to spare! What is your score?

Buying Wrath of the Lich King (in India)
It’s tough being a MMORPG player in India. If the latency doesn’t destroy the game for you, the timezone mismatch between the majority of players in the US (and other developed countries) and us will ensure that the server is deserted when you sit down to play.
Another problem is buying the game itself. Most online stores don’t even sell popular games like World of Warcraft and Guild Wars so we’re forced to buy the serial key alone off sketchy sites (for the same price as the full retail package, mind!) and download the huge clients on our crappy Fraudband connections.
If you are one of people unfortunate enough to live in this backward country, I have finally found a site, Play-Asia.com, that stocks WoW (among other popular games), ships to India and accepts Paypal!
Getting Wrath of the Lich King (release date – November 13, 2008) is going to be much easier. I can get straight to the 1 hour install (WoW installs are horribly long) without having to wait 20+ hours for the download to complete.
I’ve also put up a link to upcoming games on my sidebar and it looks awesome.
