George Is Moving Away :(

In a few weeks, George is leaving for IIT Madras. He’s going to be staying in the hostel on the campus. We’re definitely going to miss him a lot since he’s going to be so far away from us and we won’t get to see him much. Let’s track George’s incredible journey with Google Maps:

George Fails

He is such an inspiration to us all. Good luck, George, and godspeed.

Truthful Ganesh

My very truthful friend Ganesh is back. You might remember him from this post.

While I was talking to him yesterday he said:

Ganesh: i am not a heavy eater

My mouth fell open and my brain couldn’t process a lie of this magnitude. At a loss for words, I asked some of my old collegemates for comments.

The Genius of Dilbert

That’s just…

…genius.

The Dilbert comic strip is pretty much my idea of a perfect IT company. I would be the Pointy-Haired Boss of course.

When I think about it, people I know do resemble Dilbert characters.

Pointy-Haired Boss – Me (wannabe)

Dilbert – George

Wally – Sanchan

Alice – Sindhu

Asok – Arun

Dogbert – Ragha

‘Lie Day’

Human beings are capable of accepting and adjusting to many things. However some things we just cannot accept. This is one of them:

Ganesh: i dont move close with girls basically

After he said this I was shocked and rendered speechless. Never in my life have I heard a lie as big as this. So I asked a few of my classmates what they thought of this statement.

Bharath: lie
Bharath: absolutly lie

Muruganandham: fraud!!!!!!
Muruganandham: telling lies

Gowtham: Yes, i agree with him, he doesnt move close with girls… But ‘very close with girls’

Vijayalan: No comments… Dumb struck!!!

Harikumar: is that our class ganesh?

Naresh Kumar: liar
Naresh Kumar: scene podatha

Vinod: well me moving now
Vinod: have three test this week from wednesday da
Vinod: so byeee

Vinod has once again show that studies are more important to him than The Biggest Lie In The World.

We Are Safe… For Now!

Ragha has gone to Coimbatore along with his parents to look for brides (hide your women, people of Coimbatore!) and so the city is safe for the next few days.

During this time, Adithya will be the acting Ragha and try to maintain the level of bad humour and absurdity prevalent when the real Ragha is around. Adithya has proven himself to be a worthy Ragha by gaining weight, making bad jokes and weird noises but he still hasn’t reached peak form. So you should take this opportunity to sleep peacefully at night, travel safely on roads, use electronic items, enjoy uninterrupted power supply* and more benefits.

*Does not apply to people of Tambaram village.

Inspired by Sivakumar??????

Sivakumar
I noticed that all of Sivakumar’s posts followed a standard format and set out to make a similar post and also try to guess why he uses this format. First we have the title which usually contains multiple question marks or exclamation marks. This is due to his subconscious urge to get a lot of marks in exams or perhaps it is supposed to be ASCII art. Then we have the vaguely related image probably found with Google Image search. Many people put images to make their posts more colourful and interesting so I don’t fault him for this. I only question the relevance of those images to the post.

Now we move on to the random sentences in bold face. Sivakumar uses bold liberally and at times you wonder why a particular sentence is in bold.

Why are these sentences bold?

Are they important?.

So why are they also center aligned?.

Bold wasn’t enough?

Questions center aligned and in bold face are another typical characteristic of Siva’s posts. He sometimes puts full stops after question marks so I’ve done that too. After much deliberation I came to the conclusion that this is designed to reflect his bold personality and his need to be at the center of attention. Finally, Sivakumar ends his posts with a sentence or a question (in bold face, of course) so I shall do that also.

Why does Sivakumar call himself Selerines?

The Perfect TLD (for Bharath)

Checking on the front pages stories on Digg/Technology I found this article: Back in the USSR: Soviet domain resists death

I was thinking how the .su domain name extension is perfect for our friend Borat. We should get the domain http://captain.su and make a fan site for him.

December Isn’t So Bad

It turns out that some people obsessed with the idea of working for Infosys logged into the Campus Connect website and somehow determined that the join date for their batch was in December 2008. This information (the accuracy of which has not yet been determined) must have somehow reached my parents through unknown sources, prompting my father to suddenly and unexpected suggest (for the first time ever) that I prepare for the CAT.

Prepare For The CAT

Now I like the idea of going to work in December. The more holidays I get, the better! But some people are worried about losing out on six months’ worth of salary. I laugh at these people. I also like the idea of not going to work and studying to get into a business school (a fate Vinod had resigned himself to… before passing the one arrear he had through re-evaluation).
