Gravatars (Globally Recognised Avatars) is a service that lets you display a small image of your choice in your comment on blogs that support Gravatars.
I’ve installed the Gravatar plugin on my blog and modified the CSS and the comments.php file to make the Gravatars display. (I’ll post a tutorial later.) This is how it looks:

There’s a new version of WordPress out and if you’re on Ampli5.org you need to update it yourself. It’s not that hard. A matter of replacing the old files with the new ones and running the upgrade script. Look up some tutorials and you’ll be alright. If you run into any problems tell me and [...]

Firefox is one strange browser. You might have seen start up times degrade the longer you used Windows without a reinstall. On my PC, Firefox takes up to one full minute or more to start after the antivirus and the firewall starts loading. This, I think, is a problem with Windows.
Recently, the excellent Download Statusbar [...]

Linux this, Linux that… who needs it?
I’ll simply use andLinux to run Linux applications in Windows XP. Ha!
Right now the only Linux application that is considered better than Windows equivalents is Amarok. I didn’t think much of it when I saw it on Ubuntu but I’d still like to try it out now that [...]

Fake, of course.
Microsoft would never leave their lucrative and illegal monopoly over desktop computers to pursue open source software. In those early years Microsoft stood for innovation. Now it’s stands for being a fatass that refuses to listen to reason or the rest of the world.

I was doing something on the PC when there was a power failure. Fine. I have a UPS. I shutdown the computer. The power came back on in ten minutes as usual and I started up the computer. I double-clicked the connection icon for Airtel and found a nice [...]

I asked George:
“Why is there so much emphasis on the command line? Why are Linux users raving about the power of command line?
Do you want more users or not?
If you don’t, continue raving about the command line and obscure commands and keep Linux out of the hands of the common people.
But if you do, abandon [...]

Incoming!
It all started when ZoneAlarm reported a trojan called Win32.Virtumonde.fp and my system slowed to a crawl. I clicked Repair nonchalantly only to find that ZA couldn’t handle the infection. Quarantine, Rename, Delete and even Delete on Reboot didn’t work. They all failed.
And there was no word from NOD32 either. I scanned the System32 folder [...]

Heard of Elder Scrolls 4 - Oblivion?
I have it installed. My system can run the game very well. Yes, it looks nice. Really really good even. But there’s something important missing. Gameplay!
Oblivion is a roleplaying game. Except that it’s in first person. Now for someone who played and loved Neverwinter Nights, this game is seriously [...]

Wordpress Upgrade
I’d been putting off the Wordpress update for about two weeks now. I usually don’t upgrade unless they have some really good features. So I end up skipping a few versions and then upgrading when there is something substantial. But unlike George (who is still on Wordpress 2.0.3) I do upgrade eventually.
This time they [...]
